Maternal Surname

MATERNAL SURNAME FOR LEGITIMATE CHILDREN AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

This bill amends the Family Code and Civil Code to allow legitimate children to use either their mother's or father's surname, with the mother's surname taking precedence in case of disagreement. It also allows children to change their surname within 15 years of reaching adulthood without needing court approval.
