G AN ACT GRANTING PHILIPPINE CITIZENSHIP TO MAODO "MALICK" DIOUF EXPLANATORY NOTE This proposed bill seeks to grant Philippine citizenship to Maodo "Malick" Diouf, a 6 feet 11 inch basketball player who has made considerable contributions to Philippine sports through his athletic excellence and leadership. Having lived in the Philippines since his college years, Mr. Diouf has grown within the local sports system and has' become an integral part of the country's basketball landscape. Mr. Diouf's journey to the Philippines began when his talent was noticed in an exhibition game by local coaches. In 2018, he flew to the Philippines after accepting an athletic scholarship from Centro Escolar University to pursue his education and basketball career. He was later recruited by the University of the Philippines Diliman, where he became a cornerstone of the UP Fighting Maroons. He played a crucial role in securing the UAAP Season 84 championship and was named the Most Valuable Player. Having spent a significant portion of his athletic career in the Philippines, Mr. Diouf has consistently contributed to the growth of basketball in the country. His presence in Philippine basketball strengthens team competitiveness and provides a positive example to younger athletes. His naturalization is an opportunity to inspire

GO AN ACT GRANTING PHILIPPINE CITIZENSHIP TO MAODO "MALICK" DIOUF Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1. Grant of Philippine Citizenship to Maodo Diouf. - Maodo Diouf is

hereby granted Philippine citizenship with all the rights, privileges, and prerogatives, as well as the duties and obligations appurtenant thereto under the Constitution and 4 the laws of the Republic of the Philippines.

Sec. 2. Oath of Allegiance. - Maodo Diouf shall take the Oath of Allegiance duly

authorized to administer the same. The Oath of Allegiance shall be registered with the Bureau of Immigration.

Sec. 3. Certificate of Naturalization and Enjoyment of Philippine Citizenship. -

9 Upon registration of the Oath of Allegiance, the Bureau of Immigration shall issue a Certificate of Naturalization to Maodo Diouf who shall thereupon enter into the full enjoyment of Philippine Citizenship.

Sec. 4. Effectivity. - This Act shall take effect after fifteen (15) days following

its complete publication in the Official Gazette or a newspaper of general circulation. Approved,
