No. 8610 BY REPRESENTATIVES ROMULO, PUMAREN AND SUANSING (M.A.) AN ACT EXPANDING THE REGISTRATION AND ISSUANCE OF LICENSES IN THE PASIG DISTRICT OFFICE OF THE LAND TRANSPORTATION OFFICE, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR Be enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:
SECTION 1. The registration and issuance of licenses in the Pasig district office
2 of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) is hereby expanded to include the issuance and administrative processing of licensing for new drivers.
SEC. 2. Expansion of Registration and Issuance of Licenses. - The LTO Pasig
5 district office is hereby authorized to conduct full registration process for new non- professional and professional driver's licenses, including: (a) Acceptance and evaluation of new driver's license applications; (b) Administration of the theoretical examinations; (c) Administration of practical driving tests; and (d) Issuance of driver's license cards to qualified applicants.
SEC. 3. The Secretary of the Department of Transportation shall immediately
include in the Department's program the upgrading of the LTO district office in the City of Pasig, National Capital Region, the initial funding of which shall be charged against the current year's appropriation of the existing LTO district office in the City of Pasig, National Capital Region. Thereafter, the funding of which shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.
SEC. 4. This Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official
2 Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation. Approved.
